The green open space (GOS) in the context of broader ecosystem is very important for the citylife. Provision of city green open space is still an issue for the Palembang city with high population density, based on Law No. 26, 2007 on Spatial Planning, every city must provide green space at least 30% of the cityarea. The rise of the diverse projectsconstruction that violate environmental regulations becoming increasingly critical cause the availability of green space in the Palembangcity by the Parks Department Palembang. The purpose of this research was to determine how the implementation of the providing public green open space policy based on Law No. 26, 2007 on Spatial Planning in Palembang City undertaken by the City Government. Core theory used is the theory of Public Policy Implementation namely George Edward III Implementation Model which measures four factors of communication, resources, disposition and bureaucratic structure.The research method used is descriptive qualitative data collection techniques are interviews and observation. The results showed that the provision of public green open space is still far from what was expected, because the rules and the implementation of the provision of green space reality there are many that do not match the views of the real condition of the availability of public green open space in Palembang that only 5%. In addition there are many other inhibiting factors such as lack of funds, inaccuracy of data, lack of socialization and limited human resources.
